Sai Mahabhakta Shri.Dattatraya Manjunath Bijoor hailed from South Karnataka, a village named 'Bijoor' and therefore the surname Bijoor.

He was a Ranger with the then British Government which was supposed to be a coveted post to be held by an Indian.

He used to stay at Bandra, a suburb of Mumbai in a house having 12 rooms which was used as a urdu school after his demise. An astute learned perfectionist, used to read complete news paper, The Times of India and his life was so meticulously framed that at any hour of the day one could know his routine.

A highly respected person from the community of 'Chitrapur Saraswat Brahmins', used to house most of the major common festivities of the community and the then Mathadhipati of Shri Chitrapur Math used to visit his home.

Shri Das Ganu Maharaj used to have his Kirtans in his house singing the glory of Shri Shirdi Sai Baba. The incident mentioned in the 28th Chapter of Shri Sai Charitra naming him had happened in his house at Bandra.

He was a hard core disciplinist who would not tolerate any kind of unethical behaviour, a Karmayogi kind of an individual.

He was enjoying good health even at the advanced age but passed away due to an accidental fall injuring his spine.
